[Young Women Birthday Gifts]

In January our Ward got a new Young Women's Presidency. I am now the Secretary. Since then I have been trying to think of something cool to give the girls for their birthdays. Last year they just got a card signed by everyone and a candy bar...nothing too awesome. My friend Heather helped her sister do a block with a vinyl quote by Dr. Seuss on it and I just KNEW I had to copy it for our girls! I changed mine a bit from hers and didn't do them as a wall hanging. I really like how they turned out! I love having so many resources out there for ideas. I think the girls will really love these and it's an awesome quote!

Today You are You
That is Truer than True
There is no one alive
Who is Youer than You!
-Dr. Seuss

I was anxious to get some done and deliver them to the girls that had already had birthdays this year. Apparently letting the paint dry over night wasn't enough... I don't know if it's because it's so chilly in our basement or what but now I'm letting them dry for 2-3 days! My sweet hubby is cutting / sanding all the wood for me. He got so dusty and so good to help me out! Love you baby!

[Easter Sunday]

~03/23/08~

K, my boys like Pokemon and sometimes still go to tournaments. Yesterday Shawn and I stopped at ShopKo while Justin was working and I saw some Pokemon Easter baskets. They were perfect especially for Nic so I got him one. They didn't have a different Pokemon so I decided to get another theme one for Justin. We went to KMart and found a M&Ms one. When I picked Justin up later and got the Pokemon basket (so I could get his discount) he totally wanted Pokemon even if it was the same as Nic's. So I ended up redoing and adding to the M&Ms one for Nic to give to Jessika, so it all worked out! My boys are so cute!

We had Easter Dinner at my Mom's. We had the typical ham, company potatoes, etc. I took the Spinach Bacon salad I made last sunday and Shawn made a couple of cobblers in the dutch oven.

We also had the annual Hoecherl Easter Egg Hunt. There were eggs EVERYWHERE!! I didn't take as many as I usually do but Melanie and Joey definitely tried to outdo themselves from last year. We had a 'contest' for the adults to see who could guess the number of eggs. Nic was the closest with a guess of 593. The actual number was 595!!! Can you believe that?? 5*9*5!! That is A LOT of eggs! Joey VOWS that next year it will be over 1000! Too funny! My cousins, Kelly and Ashley, kids were outside playing and jumping on the trampoline (BTW, my Mom and her brother Neal live next door to each other) so we invited them to participate in the egg hunt. They had had their own family egg hunt early but I guess it was WEAK compared to ours. When this started a few years ago, Melanie put money in the eggs too. There were a lot of eggs with change in them, some with dollar bills, Hannah put $2 bills in a couple and the big money one this year was a $10 bill from Joey. It was as much as he put in last year ($20 bill) but still a lot for a kid...or so we thought until Melanie's son Josh open his wallet to put his findings away and it was FULL of cash!! He'd found the big money egg, one of Hannah's, and a bunch of change ones. Nothing like going over the top! All the kids...and the adults...had a great time and can't wait for next year!

After Nic was playing on the trampoline with Noah and Brandon. He would flip them over as he bounced them...they LOVED it!

We had a DDR (Dance, Dance Revelution) war! I brought my mat and Joey/Stacia brought theirs. This game is so fun! I suck but it's FUN! Chris, the little sucker, is a NATURAL! I knew he would be...he's so good at most athletic type things. Everyone had a BLAST! This was way better than Second Sunday which was hell-a-lame. This is probably going to be a new tradition! Melanie and her family just got DDR for Easter and Chris/Tianna plan on getting it soon for Xbox 360. So much fun!

My Mom just had chemo on Thursday and wasn't feeling all that great. She wasn't treating people very well and was really rude to Shawn. I'm NOT very happy about this... Cancer/chemo isn't an excuss to treat people poorly. Shawn doesn't want me to say anything to her so I won't but man, I'm steamed! It's probably a good thing that he didn't tell me until the next day. We are in charge of April's Second Sunday and I changed it to the third Sunday so it isn't right after a chemo treatment (the last one). I ended up having the dates wrong in my head and Second Sunday actually isn't the weekend after the chemo treatment but I'm still going to leave it Third Sunday so we are FAR away from it! Hopefully this will help!

[Early Start, Hospital Run, Babysitting]

~Wednesday 03/19/08~

I didn't have today off because I took Monday off instead. I still needed to take my Mom to a doctor's appointment though. To help with the amount of sick time I didn't want to take at work, I went in at 6 a.m. Then I left at 8 a.m. to pick up my Mom and get her to Huntsman by 9 a.m. After taking my Mom home, I got home by 11 a.m. to relieve Nic from babysitting Melanie's kids so he could go to East to work on Joey/Stacia's car. He got back at 1 p.m. and back to work I went. I got off at 4:30 p.m. Melanie picked up her kids around 6 p.m. Dang, what a LONG day...

[Day Off / Jospeh and the Amazing Technocolor Dream Coat]

~ Monday 3/17/08~

I took today off instead of Wednesday because of Shawn's family being in town. I didn't know what was planned but decided to take it off anyway just in case. We all ended up doing our own thing. They all went shopping, they were mainly trying to find a prom dress for Aubry and had some other errands to run. I didn't want to go shopping so I went to a movie! Imagine that...me at a movie!! LOL! I saw Horton Hears a Who. It was really cute!

Shane and Jamie wanted to see a play or something while they were in town. Shawn's buddy Lynn is in the band for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Empress Theatre in Magna. So I got tickets for their family and Shawn and I for tonight. Apparently the theatre just reopened after 25 years or something. It was a tiny theatre and every seat would be a great one. The performance was pretty good and everyone had a great time. For Shawn, it was the best performance he's seen next to Tuacan, even better than the movie. I don't agree with him but it was really good and we enjoyed it so much Shawn and I will probably go again! It was cool to see how they did everything with such a small stage and they threw in some cute parts of their own: The pretended like some of the cast was late and had 'extras' come out and do musical numbers to buy time. Finally they acted like they couldn't wait any more and started pulling people out of the audience to be the brothers. It was a fun twist! Another part they did differently was Pharaoh was NOT Elvis! He was Captain Jack from Pirates! He guy playing him did a FABULOUS job! It was really fun! There were some other small changes too but these were the big, fun ones. I was kinda surprised that Shawn liked it because a few months ago we went to Wood Cross High's Joseph and they changed some things and he HATED it!! I thought it was great but not Shawn! Anyway, it was a great performance (even though Simon would of thought the singing was terrible, especially Joseph!) and we all had fun! Lynn's family was there along with some other friends of Shawn's. It was fun to see them too!

After the play we went to the Leatherby's on North Temple. We've never been to that one before. It was good but I like the other one better.

When we got home, Shawn, Jamie, Shane and I played Ticket to Ride. Nic and Justin got this game from them for Christmas and we haven't played it yet...oops! It was pretty fun and I'm sure we'll play it again. It's a German game by the makers of Settlers and I don't think it's as fun as Settlers but it's still fun.

[Sunday Dinner]

I didn't take any pictures of Sunday Dinner but I wish I would of after all the time I put into it! Anyway, I made Crockpot Cranberry Pork, Lemon-Butter Red Potatoes and Spinach Bacon Salad. It was so delicious and everyone LOVED it! I'm glad I have resources for great recipes! The pork one I got from Heather and the Lemon Potatoes from my friend Nikki. I've had the salad one for awhile and can't remember where it came from... Here are the recipes:

Crockpot Cranberry Pork

1 pork loin roast (2.5-3 lbs), can be either boneless or not
1 can (16 oz) jellied cranberry sauce
1 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup cranberry or orange juice (I use orange)
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp ground cloves
2 T. cornstarch
2 T. cold water

Place pork roast bone side down (if bone in) in crockpot. In a medium bowl mash cranberry sauce. Stir in sugar, cranberry /orange juice, mustard and cloves. Pour over roast. Cover and cook on high for 6-8 hours if bone in. If boneless, cook on low 6-8 hours. Cook until meat is tender. Remove roast and keep warm. Skim fat from juices; meausre 2 cups of juice, adding water if necessary and pour into a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Combine cornstarch adn cold water to make a paste; stir into sauce. Cook and stir until thickened. Season with salt. Serve with sliced pork.

This dish is always a hit and Shawn has actually used it, slightly modified, in dutch oven cookoffs. YUMMMMY!!

Lemon-Butter Red Potatoes

10 medium red potatoes, quartered
1/3 cup butter (NO substitutes)
2 T. lemon juice
3 T. minced parsley
1 T. grated lemon peel
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg

Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water. Cover and bring to a boil. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until tender. In a small saucepan, heat butter over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from heat; stir in the remaining ingreadients. Drain potatoes; top with lemon-butter mixture.

This dish is very yummy and everyone loved it! It's pretty lemon-y so next time I'm going to cut down on the lemon. I think I said this last time I made it...oops!

Spinach Bacon Salad

Spinach
1/2 red onion
1/2 lb. bacon, crumbled
1 apple

Line the edges of your bowl with the red leaf lettuce. Tear spinach and romaine lettuce into the bowl. Dice the onion and apple, crumble the bacon and then add all to the salad.

Dressing:
1 C. oil
1/3 C. red wine vinegar
1/4 C. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried mustard
1 T. poppy seeds
1 T. minced onion

Add dressing to salad and toss.

[IDOS, Visitors & Dance, Dance Revolution]

Saturday 3/15/08

~IDOS~
Shawn was in the World Campionship Dutch Oven Cookoff finals today which were held at the Sportsman Expo at the South Town Expo Center. He cooked on Thursday and made it to the finals today. His partner was Ted Cromer. It should of been Rains because they cooked together when qualifying but Rains didn't want to go to World's as a contestant, he went as volunteer instead. Shawn and Ted didn't place but had fun anyway (the $5000 grand prize would of been nice though!!). On Thursday they cooked Prime Rib (Shawn's dish) and a bread and dessert (Ted's dishes). On Saturday they cooked ...

~VISITORS~
Shawn's parents have been visiting since Thursday and have spent their days at the expo. Shane, Jamie (Shawn's sister) and their kids came down Saturday evening. When they were on their way, they called Ross and Angie (Shawn's parents) and told them that Shane's parents wouldn't take their dog so they had to bring her. Yeah, I'm NOT very happy about this at all!!! I totally understand that they are in a tough situation and thought they had it taken care of and then it fell through. What upsets us (Shawn and I) the most is that they didn't even have the courtesy to call and talked to us about it. They had to call and have mommy and daddy take care of it. It's ridiculous and frustrating. Oh well, it's not worth making it into a big issue. We are glad they came to visit and stay with us (which they've never done before) and we'll have a great time in spite of a dog in the house! I'm just glad she's a small dog and doesn't bark. Anyway after the cookoff we met them at Salsa Ledos...yummy!!

To accommodate for our visitors both Nic and Justin slept on the Love Sacs along with Jake. Aubry and Taylor slept on the sofa bed, Shane and Jamie in Nic's room, and Ross and Angie in Justin's room. My boys are sweeties for giving up their rooms for guests. Thanks boys!

~Dance, Dance Revolution~
When we got home and we played Dance, Dance Revolution on the Wii. I just had Justin pick this up for me on Thursday so it was the first time we played our game. Too fun and SOOO funny! Shawn's a goofball and was just dancing all over the place, not even following the steps of the game. In all his craziness, he actually hit several steps! Aubry took a video of it on her phone. I should see if she can put it on YouTube or something so I can post it here! All I got were these photos:

[I'm gonna kill him...DREAM CAR]

Thursday 3/13/08

I had today off instead of yesterday and went to Jordan Commons and saw Fool's Gold...cute movie. While I was there Nic kept texting me and bugging me about getting a Mustang. I understand it's the kid's dream car and that he has wanted one since he was about 5 but now isn't the time! I kept telling him not to do it, that he should wait, save a bunch of money and not go into so much debt to get one now. Yeah, he wouldn't listen to me and went ahead a got one. It's a 2007 Mustang and has under 100 miles on it. I can't believe that the dealership is going to give him such a large loan without a co-signer. No wonder kids get into financial trouble if it's this easy. *sigh* Oh well, I hope it works out okay. Nic is a very responsible kid so I know that he will work it out, I just don't want him to have to unnecessarily struggle and get into the habit of the debt trap. Unfortunately I can only advise him and hope he will make wise, informed decisions. Anyway, this time he DIDN'T take my advise and got the car. Oh well, it is a beautiful car and he LOVES it!

EDIT: 3/19/08
So the dealership was a bit too gun-ho and Nic doesn't qualify for a loan on his own. He had to take the car back! Poor, sad Nic! He really loved that car! Instead he got a 2006 Ford Taurus and plans to save like crazy to get his beloved Mustang by the end of the year. I really think this will work out better for him...we'll see! I did tell him to walk away especially since he called me while talking to the finance lady to tell me what was going on and ask me some questions and I could hear her in the background. What a snatch! I can't believe the way she was talking to him! I told him not to buy from somewhere that was treating him like that. He still bought the car but he did insist on dealing with a different person. I seriously can't believe the way she was talking to him! Nic is pretty excited about this car because it gets AWESOME gas milage which is great for a pizza delivery dude! And it's very roomy but a bit family car looking. Oh well Son, you can't have it all!

[Bear Lake]

February 22-24, 2008

Joey and Stacia invited us up to Bear Lake with them to go snow mobiling. They also invited Aaron and Melanie and their boys. Nic couldn't get work off and he was SO disappointed that he didn't get to go! Shawn and Justin were so excited that they did get to go! I wasn't that excited, I don't think playing in the snow sounds all that fun...man, was I WRONG!! It was a BLAST!! After the boys (Joey, Shawn, Justin, and Aaron) went out in the morning, the girls (me, Melanie, and Stacia) all went out. We started out just going around the cabin (which doesn't look like a cabin to me...it just looks like a house!). Then we ventured out to the lake. It was fun but most of the time we had a kid with riding with us...yeah, not as much fun! It was so hard to see over or around their heads and our helmets would keep bumping. We had races with each other and that was a lot of fun. I was on the fastest sled...yay! Whichever twin was with me got scared so I had to switch kids so I could go FAST!!

After lunch Joey took me and Melanie to the trails. That was WAY fun! I think he was surprised that I would keep up with him. Melanie didn't keep up as much and we had to keep stopping to wait for her. But on the way back, she kept right up with me! He took us to a GIANT hill to go up. (I sure wish I had pictures but there's no way I was taking my nice camera out on the sleds.) It was really scary looking but Joey said that once you started, don't stop because you might start to sink...nice! I did get off my sled at the bottom of the hill, and he was right, I totally sunk in the snow up to my hips! Melanie refused to go, so we went without her. Joey went first and I followed him. Getting up was a piece of cake and I wished that Melanie would of come. Joey told me that to go down to lightly ride the brakes, no gas, and if I started to fishtail to ease up on the brakes. Oh man, I was SO scared! Going down was WAY freakier than going up! But I did what he said and made it. We came down a different trail then going up. It was more zig-zaggy where the way up was a straight shot. There were some parts that I was seriously scared and wanted to jump off the sled! But I didn't!! Once we got down, we finally talked Melanie into going. I DIDN'T tell her about the freaky ride back down. So we all went up, I was so glad she did it. It was SO fun! And I'm glad I didn't tell her about the trip down, I don't think she would of done it! Joey told us that Aaron wouldn't even do it! What a WUSS!!! Later Shawn told me that Aaron was slow and way too cautious the whole morning. It sucked for a while for Shawn and Justin because they were stuck behind him on the trails. Eventually he let them pass him and they all left him in their dust!! I'm kinda surprised that he was like that. With all the outdoors things he does...hunting, fishing, 4-wheelers, boats, etc...I was shocked!

In the evenings we played the Wii. Stacia got Dance, Dance Revolution and American Idol Karaoke. It was so fun especially Dance, Dance Revolution...I'm going to have to get me one!

The whole weekend was a lot of fun. Thanks Joey and Stacia for the invite! I hope we get to do it again so Nic can come too! He spent the weekend working and dog sitting...poor kid!

[Second Sunday]

~Sunday 3/9/08~

I went to bed really late last night plus it was daylight savings "spring forward" so I didn't go to church...shame on me!! It was nice to sleep in though!

I almost didn't go to my Mom's for Second Sunday. Shawn had a migrain and I went without him last month because he was a little sick (and we can't be any sick around my Mom anymore) so I didn't want to go either. Plus I'd spend the WHOLE day on Saturday with my family so it's not like I didn't get to see everyone. About 4 p.m. Shawn asked when we were going so I had to hurry and get in the shower. The boys had already left so Shawn called them to let them know we were on our way. We stopped and got drinks at 7-11. Of course I got a Peach Mango Slurpee...they are SOOOO good!!! I also got an extra one because last time I brought it everyone was stealing it and I didn't want to share! I'm extra glad I brought a 'community' one because I didn't know Nic was bringing Jessika and we didn't get her a drink. She didn't want the whole thing so there was still some for others (JOEY!) after I put some for her in a different cup.

Shawn, Justin and I didn't stay long, just a couple of hours. Lately it's been pretty lame there with people just sitting around watching TV or doing a puzzle or something. Because I'd been gone all day on Saturday, I had stuff to do at home so we left. Apparently later that evening people got up off their butts and played the Wii. So it sounds like it wasn't totally lame for everyone that stayed so that's good! I'm still glad I left though especially since I didn't want to go in the first place!

[St. George]

So I mentioned St. George so now I'll elaborate a bit...

Shawn had to go to St. George for business and I went with him! We were there from February 26 - 29. I was a bit nervous about going and Justin not going to school everyday but I *think* he did okay! YAY Justin!

The weather was AWESOME...high 60's to low 70's! Man it was NICE! It was great to just relax and not really have a schedule...at least I didn't! Shawn had to work everyday but he still had a good time.

The hotel, Comfort Suites, was kinda sucky. They didn't even have a business center with internet access (seriously, who doesn't have that now-a-days??? And this hotel is less than a year old!), the beds were really crappy comfort-wise, and we couldn't hook up our portable DVD player to the TV to watch movies (which we can do at other hotels). Oh well, at least the staff was great!

In my down time I watched "Ghost Whisperer" season one that I brought with me. I checked it out from the library and could only have it for 2 weeks so I couldn't waste time not watching it while Shawn was away!

Here is a break down of our other activities:

TUESDAY

We got a bit of a late start but oh well! The drive was a bit long but we had fun just chatting! We ate that night at Famous Dave's...YUM! I for sure ate too much and I know I wnet WAY over my points (but I didn't even keep track of them...oops!).

Then we went shopping at Wal-Mart, had to get a swimsuit just like we always do when we go out-of-town...why is it so hard for us to remember to pack a swimsuit???, and Ross. We spent WAY too much but we both got clothes for some awesome deals! I even got a couple of pairs of paints for only $3 each. Can't beat prices like that but it still adds up quickly! I also got an outfit for the dinner we attended on Thursday night.

Sat in the hot tub for a while. The weather was perfect for it!

WEDNESDAY:

Shawn was at a conference all day. Lunch was catered so he had me meet him over there so I could eat too. It was pretty good (Italian). I didn't have a car so anywhere I went meant walking or a bus. After lunch I walked to the closest movie theater. They didn't even start playing anything until 4 p.m.! What a pain in the butt! PLUS I couldn't find the dang theater FOREVER even though I LITERALLY walked right passed it! I was thinking it was on the other side of the road and must not of been paying attention...well, obviously I didn't pay attention! What a DORK! Oh well, I got some good walking in that day!

We ate at Texas Roadhouse that night...guess we were on a BBQ kick! Of course it was DELISH! I LOVE that place! Yummmm, ribs!

I worked out for a bit in the hotel's fitness room and then sat in the hot tub with Shawn for a little bit. I didn't have my key with me and got locked out of the pool area after changing into my swimsuit after working out. I had to go outside and walk to the pool area and yell for Shawn to come let me in! It was embarassing! Yes, I was in my swimsuit ONLY! Nice...

THURSDAY:

I planned on taking a bus to a different movie theater that opened at 1 pm. The city changed the bus route so I was waiting for it in the wrong place, actually I didn't know where to wait for it! Anyway, by the time I got to where I should be, I'd missed the bus and the next one didn't get there for another 40 minutes. After about 35 minutes, Shawn drove by and saw me so he gave me a ride. I told him I was fine to wait the 5 minutes for the bus but he wanted to give me a ride...what a sweetie! I had to wait for over an hour for the movie to start so I might as well have just taken the bus to waste time! Oh well! I saw Definitely, Maybe. It was pretty good. I didn't love it but I wasn't sorry I saw it. Oh, and I tried to take in a grocery bag with me that had some bottled water, an apple and a grapefruit and the twerp taking tickets wouldn't let me! Dang him for doing his job! The thing that is silly to me is that I bought a mini-meal thing from them to take in! And I did so because I didn't want it to be that I was only taking in my own stuff. Oh well, rules are rules but I seriously wouldn't have bought anything from them if I'd have known. That's what I get for not having my purse!

After that movie, and getting my stuff back!, Shawn met me there and we went and saw Spiderwick Cronicles. That was a GOOD movie! We will for sure be buying that one! When we were giving the twerp our tickets to get in (yes the SAME twerp that took my bag!), he had two old ladies sitting on the bench eating apples because he wouldn't let him take them in the movie! At least he's consistant. What a dork...

That night was the dinner Shawn's work sponsored. It was good food and we had fun talking to the older couple that sat at our table. They are from somewhere small...can't remember where...and he and Shawn both know someone from there. Small world eh? I also met a few other people that Shawn works with.

FRIDAY:

I took the bus back to the movie theater to see another movie! But first I went to the outlet stores that were about 1/2 mile or so away. I got a white pair of capris from Eddie Bauer. They were only $9. Then I went to Dillard's and they were having awesome clearance sales! It was an extra 40% off of the lowest clearance price...YAY! I didn't see anything I liked clothes-wise but shoes? Heck yeah! They had some pretty cute ones. I found these zebra ones that totally looked like Jessika so I called Nic and told him to find out her size. She's an 8 and they only had a 7.5 or 8.5 so I got them both to see if one of them would work. They ended up being $5 each! I was sad they didn't have my size... I got two other pair for myself though.

Then I walked back to the movie theater and saw Juno. Before it started, I saw that Fool's Gold was playing and then saw the trailer while waiting for Juno to start. It looked really good and I was debating on whether or not I should switch movies. I decided to start watching Juno because Fool's Gold started after it anyway. If I wasn't getting into it, I'd switch. So I totally DIDN'T switch movies! I LOVED Juno! It's about a teenage pregnancy which I was iffy about liking but it was so real and I don't think it played it up as glamorous or anything stupid like that. I really, really loved it!

Shawn picked me up after that and we headed home! All in all, the St. George trip was FUN and I'm glad my sweetie invited me along!

Edit: So the cute zebra shoes in a size 7.5 fit Jessika and the 8.5 fit Stacia! I went to Dillard's at Fashion Place Mall and they had my size! YAY!! I didn't get them for as good a deal as in St. George but oh well...I LOVE them!!

[Shoe Party and Baby Bear]

Saturday was Stacia's shoe party. Too many CUTE shoes! Of course I got too many...especially considering I had JUST bought shoes at Dillard's while Shawn and I were in St. George! Anyway, I got SIX pair! One pair was free from Stacia booking her party off my party...YAY! I would of gotten more but some that I loved they didn't have in my size...dang it! Actually, I wouldn't have gotten more, it just would of been harder to narrow it down. Man I'm lovin' shoes lately!

Edit: I don't know what the heck but I wore a pair of my cute new shoes Monday night and they don't fit very well. They're kinda snug...DANG it! I'm not sure why this happens...it did at my shoe party too. I had to exchange for the next size up and at least they don't hurt but they are a bit big. I just can't win! I spilled something on the original pair so I couldn't exchange them but there was another pair that didn't fit right and I wasn't sure if I wanted anyway, so I exchanged them for the right size in the other pair. So yeah, now I have two of the same shoe! I told Hannah she can have them if they fit and are her style if she doesn't mind the white spot on the toe. If she doesn't like them, Tianna might. I'm just glad I got ones that fit me because I LOVE them!

The first picture is after I made the exchange which is why there are only 5 pair instead of 6.

After the shoe party we went to Sportsman Warehouse to see the bear cubs they had there. We stood in line for over an hour before it was our turn...it was CRAZY! I can't believe how cute and SMALL the cubs were! I was expecting them to be toddler size but they were newborn size. We all purchased pictures, 9 total for our group! I almost didn't go but I'm glad I did!

Joey, Stacia, my Mom and myself were going to go to a wedding reception for a kid we knew back in Missouri. I was kinda looking forward to it but Joey decided he didn't want to go so my Mom didn't either. I thought about going by myself but by the time we all went out to eat it was pretty late and I hadn't been home all day, so I didn't. It would of been fun to see that family but oh well. Last time I saw any of them was many years ago when another child of theirs got married and had a reception in Layton or somewhere up there. I was living in Idaho but was down visiting (can't remember if the visit was because of the reception or not) so I went to it with my Mom and Dad. It was fun to see their reaction when they realized who we were! Dang it, I should of just went by myself...
